Katherine Romanow

Kat Romanow is a Jewish food historian who is passionate about using food as a medium to teach people about Jewish culture and history. She's the Director of Food Programming at the Museum of Jewish Montreal, where she created Fletchers – Espace Culinaire, the first Jewish food space of its kind in Montreal where people can come for a meal inspired by the diversity of Jewish food or for one of the many food events that happen at Fletchers. Alongside this, her passion for food, her city, and storytelling led her to research and create the Beyond the Bagel food tour during which participants learn about Montreal Jewish food history while eating a lot of food. She is also the co-founder of the Wandering Chew, whose mission is to share the diversity of Jewish stories through food. They hold monthly through pop-up dinners, cooking workshops, and other innovative food-related events to get people just as excited about Jewish food as they are. Her favourite Jewish foods are bagels and sabich.
